this is the anything range, by michael sodeau for japanese company suikosha. they have been out for over a year now, but i saw them again last week in twentytwentyone and remembered how much i like them.

i saw the new alessi collection by spanish designer marti guixe today, and my eye was caught by two of the designs in particular. above is the ‘communicator plant’, which has a trunk and branches for holding notes (presumably green post-its for best effect), as well as the pot for holding everything else.

this clock, by kibardin design, is very clever. it uses OLED’s in each digit, with light sensors that ensure the right colours are always showing. there must be a crossover point between black and white, but i cannot imagine what that would look like. it reminds me of a couple of things, mainly the 3D [...]
my housemate (qwin) today showed me his lateset screensaver, the polar clock. you need to see it in action to appreciate it properly i think, but it looks really cool! bright, simple, and tidy, i downloaded it straight away. it is also available as a widget (below).
