some more great designs from outofstock, previously featured here. above are the ‘v-shelves’, which have a gentle v at one end to display an open book. even the brackets are clever, with bookend covers that slip over them, and look really simple and discreet.

i came across some really nice designs by atelier takagi today. the first is the ‘bluff city light’, above, an enameled steel cage with a copper fitting and an enameled aluminium diffuser.
the second is the ’scaffold’ shelving (below), made of birch beams and ply shelves, which has really nice joint details.

this is the axis clothes rail by south korean designer ramei keum. the rail works like any other clothes rail, and the form is nice and simple too, but as you can see in the image below, the key feature of this is that the ends can be used to hang a coat on too.
